I have a Hw 97 in .25 cal, it is probably the nicest shooting spring powered air rifle that I have ever shot. Also it is extremely accurate with H&N pellets.
I want one too, was thinking the sfs snipe because I didn’t know I could get a 97 .25
I bought a Hatsan Stryker 0.25 from Portugal last year. It was around the £110.00 mark and quick delivery. Nice and accurate but awful trigger (but then most are compared to a Record trigger)
What about a HW90
Very good in .25.
I had one in a css stock a few years ago.
Last seen in a local RFD for a lot more than I paid for it.
Accepting that you want a .25 rather than any other calibre, the normal choice is the HW80 because it is 'FAC capable' if so desired. You should certainly pick a break barrel HW because if you did get tired of it you just have to sell the barrel (to me not to that Shed tuner chappie ) rather than the whole rifle. Nevertheless I was interested to read about a 77/97 .25 because I have never even seen one.
Good luck anyway.

They look exactly the same Nick.
Until you look down the (safe) end of the barrel.
My 77k .25 is ...
Easy to cock
Ambi
Accurate
The most fun single shot air rifle I own.
Stick to H&N ftt and do not be tempted by shiny 25- 30 grain pellets.
Put 10 tin cans at 30 yards on a crisp autumn morning and relieve Brexit stress.
Open sights mind you!
