Although John Had one fitted to one of his Mk3's! Any chance you could put up some pictures again? I Happen to have 2 of these PH16's, planning to fit one of them on my mk3 as one of the many winter projects. Seems possible to tweak it a bit and make it fit. Need to tap the screwholes in the rifle as well. Futher suggestions concerning fitting a PH16 are welcome.

    Hi Dutch

Those pics I posted before were in Photobucket, They told me that I was infringing copyrights when I posted pics of my own Tag Heuer F1 clock so I deleted everything and closed the account!!

    Some pics..

The eyebell was missing on mine, A work mate (Kamag on here) found one in his parts bin, I think he said it came from an Anschutz but it fitted perfectly, The aperture is adjustable too!!

    BTW, Mine is a PH-16M..

    Hi Dutch,

I have attached a few images of the PH16M. One of the rifles is incomplete sadly.

    Hope they help.

Thnx Guys, good detailed insights! the challenge was actually to fit a PH-16 (non M) on a Mk3. I guess its searching for a proper PH16M then, unless anyone has succeeded in doing so? maybe with a bit of metal work it is possible.

I have a PH16 sight. Bought a year ago but never used it. Missing its eye piece, tried to sell it on e Bay but no one bought it. The PH17 sold quick though

I have a PH16m and a still grease wrapped PH17b to dispose of, so it will be interesting to see if the 16m on freeads sells at that price.

How is it the same guy has just (almost) sold this for £125?

    What subtlety am I missing?
Too many guns, or not enough time?

The no-suffix PH 16, as you can see from the catalog sheets, was made for .22 rimfires with receiver tubes about an inch in diameter; I used to have one on a classic Remington 550.

The Mk III has a much bigger receiver of course, for which the PH 16M’s base is designed.

Yes! I worked the inside with a file, to adjust diameter. Made it fit a MK3 action/receiver tube diameter. in 90% sideways extension it is usable, not ideal of course. Next is to tab the screw holes, which is a more specialised job I guess. So far so good! Thnx for pointing out the Freeadds PH16m, silly price (125 quid) unfortunately. I'll keep on searching for one.

Some shots below of an old Mk III with a proper PH 16M aboard, and various PH eyepieces.

In my humble opinion, the PH 1 series is the best small sporting peep sight ever made. I’d urge you to hold out for this sight, as opposed to bodging up a PH 16 “no suffix,” which someone out there needs for his rimfire!

    Fixed-opening eyepiece:

Sight flipped open - so you can use the open sights!

    PH 59 “Midget:”

PH 60, this is the eyepiece usually seen with on the Supertarget’s PH 17M sight:

PH “Iris” leaf-type eyepiece, and gorgeous PH 72 eye shade:
