"HELP" Pistol grips Making ??

I did find that the close grained Canadian Maple helped a lot, it doesn't chip or raide splinters easily and was a joy to work, I bet I change my mind when I'm trying to make some grips for the Umarex S&W and then chequer them

I won a pair of cocobolo wood scales from america the other day. Im going to make a pair of 1911 grips with it then either stipple or checker them. Can you recommend where to buy a checkering tool from?
