Its good to see a pistol bring such joy

Obviously the HW45 is one of the best made - however there are others that inspire great enthusiasm and devotion. You can try some of them later on!

Yes I will do mate,I'm out of cash right now for my own toys. What other pistols are really good ?It's got to be spring powered though, with recoil.I would not mind a pistol with even more recoil than what this HW45 gives out just for the fun of it,bring it on,the more the better .

Hi again bullet boy ,Your pistol look stunning BTW,looks the dogs balls.I would not say no to owning that beauty ,look after her. http://i1356.photobucket.com/albums/...66/bits010.jpg

I got my new pistol case today,so now I feel complete.Gun looks amazing sitting there inside of it.The best thing I like about it is,nobody ealse knows the combination number except ME ,She is now protected from all but my hands,& I feel honoured.

Yes I am so pleased with my new toy, hopefully one day I will get over it because it's not doing my health any good

It's very easy to put a photo up mate, just get the photo onto your pc which ever way you choose, camera or by right clicking on a photo from the net & click save as & choose where to save photo on your pc,like save to desktop.

Then once you have the photo saved on your pc,creat an account at photobuket, photobucket.com

Once into your photo bucket account click on upload, once clicked on upload you need to choose what photo to upload from you pc,so find the photo that you saved to say your desktop & click next & it will upload the choosen photo to your photo bucket account. When it has finished uploading your photo to photobucket,if you then click on your photo it will bring up a direct link for that photo, then click on that link and then you can right click on your post when writting it & choose paste. It will then paste the link to your photo like this,

    right click,paste = http://i1356.photobucket.com/albums/...66/bits010.jpg

Hope you can understand,I know I'm not the best at explaining how to do things but I thought I will try.

I had to upload your photo of your gun to my photo bucket account, then I had to click on the direct link, then I had to right click & paste the link onto my post.

    Good luck

bullet boy,If you get it try & show me a photo of her ,You must love the HW45,But I know why you do.

I tryed my HW45 out today using the RWS hobby pellets & I find my shots are not as good as using the RWS superdomes. They seem to spread out a lot more & I am having more flyers, about 2-3 flyers out of 7 shots ?

I am not sure of the reason yet,I am thinking maybe the gun just does not like them as much as the superdomes,or because the hobbys are lighter,The gun jumps in my hands more ?

I have heard people talk about .177 being harder to shoot than .22 in HW45. is this because .177 pellets are lighter than .22 making the gun jump more ?

I need to try & work out if it's me,or if it's the gun.I wish both pellets went as good as each other because of the reson flat hobbys are better for shooting paper. It's not a very big problem if I need to feed my HW45 the superdomes only, but would have like it better to shoot both well.

I am thinking maybe buy some flat head pellet in the same waight as the superdomes are.

I have also heard people say that hobbys shoot well in there HW45.Today I shot at 20 targets with the superdomes & 20 targets with the hobbys & I am deffenlty better with the domes.

Today also I put some moly grease on my cocking slots & it feels silky smoother when opening & shuting it now so thats great ,was very carefull not to put to much on it,I just put a little bit on the end of a match stick.

Happy shooting people.Tomorrow is going to be an all day for me,I LOVE IT

My personal experience is that the .22 versions shoot far smoother. In theory the .177 offers a flatter trajectory than the heavier pellet but at pistol shooting ranges and with the quite high power output (well for an air pistol!) the .22 isnt that 'loopy'. When I used to shoot at a field target club, after some practice I could achieve good accuracy at 25 yards and sometimes further.

From a technical perspective .22 is the more efficient of the two.

As a matter of interest I also prefer lower powered pistols such as Webleys in .22 - it just feels better.

    Hi IH ,

I also find that my .22 HW45 has not got a loopy trajectory at the ranges I am shooting pistol at.Even a coke can at 35 meters is great.I was thinking before I got the gun that the trajectory would be worse than what it is a long shot with the gun. It's perfect in my eyes though with the RWS superdomes.anything over 35 meters with an air pistol is a bit far away anyway in my eyes.though it can be done but is more luck I think at that range. So yes I think the .22 is great for this pistol,But then I am no expert in target shooting.

Today I shot at lots more targets with the hobby pellets & now I am getting somewhere with using them.I am finding I need to use a slightly tighter grip when I am shooting the hobbys than when I am shooting the superdomes.I am thinking this is because the pellets are lighter making the gun jump more.

So if I am right,.177 is harder to shoot because the pellets are lighter making the gun jump in your hands more.Yesterday I also dry fired my HW45 by accident & the gun jumped much more in my hand.so much so I near enough dropped it ,so heavyer pellets seem to tame the jump down.

Now I got it I think

Am off to do some more testing
