how far left? an inch and a half by any chance? What serial number is the rifle?
If you are shooting to the left you need to put the shim on the RHS of the rear mount or the LHS of the front mount depending on which side you have the mounts doing up. put the shims on the fixed side not the side that dose up.

Alan, thanks for this - that was not in TF's article.
Makes sense, I've got the shims on the RHS rear where the mount does do up. I'll try switching them to the LHS Front where that mount doesn't..

Derek let me know how you got on with the shims. I found I had to shim the mounts on my AA S400 last week when I mounted my Hawke target scope. It wanted to shoot 6 inches left at 20 yards needed about 1mm of shim.

TBH I didn't have time to check the optical center properly so just wound the turrets to the center. I am using the gun to shoot the Norfolk county lightweight sport rifle postal league. It is shot at 20 yards on an NSRA PL14 target (50m ISSF Pistol scaled to 20 yards) so as long as the shots go in the center thats all that matters for that comp and it's all I get a chance to use the rifle for at the moment. I think that I need to look at the scope, if I can find the time, as the one that came out of the rings needed no shimming at all.
