Open the slide, at the front of the compression cylinder, somewhere around the edge there's a little hole where the air gets in when you cock the gun -

Most oils are mineral based and will rot the O rings & seals throughout your gun

Pellgunoil might seem expensive but it lasts ages so doesn't actually cost much in real terms.
I haven't been bothered to find out what the Auto Transmission Fluid type is (if it is). As there are at least two types which are not cross compatible - anyone giving this info needs to specify which they've tested,

According to the safety sheet for Pellgun Oil it is MONOLEC GFS SAE 30 Engine Oil.

Described as “A technologically superior single grade engine oil designed for diesel engines. It achieves its superior performance levels through the use of select 100% paraffinic base stock with a high natural viscosity index.”

Agreed on that-At only a couple of quid a tube, which lasts for ages, its not worth pennypinching and then maybe mucking your gun up.
