Thanks for replies. I have details of another gun with A after the serial number. Might it denote smoothbore? Also have you dropped a number 1 as this seems to be a very low number although I have seen others numbered below 10000?

Sorry I have indeed dropped a number, so many tiny stripes next to each other! its E11114 A so well above 10000. Checked the barrel, but its not smoothbore, rifling present! would be interesting to know where the A stands for, thnxOriginally Posted by Millsy1

It could have supposed to have been an E for export and someone at BSA stamped it wrong? stranger things have happened........
