Everybody needs at least one HW80!
I seem to have found a new love for springers.
Do I need a HW 80? All my rifles are Air Arms except a little project 35 I need to bring back to life.
I currently have 2 Elites, 2 TX200's (mk1) and a mk2 SR
But I feel that I'm not a real springer shooter until I own either a 77 or 80?
Thoughts please.

BSA Super10 addict, other BSA's inc GoldstarSE, Original (Diana) Mod75's, Diana Mod5, HW80's, SAM 11K... All sorted!
I would say an 80 and a 77 would be a good place to start. Then there's the 95, maybe a 98? Even a 99 if you're into masochism!

You don't need either.
The 80 was designed to run at high power.
The 77 was fine until they changed it. Now it's best at a bit more than 12fpe.
But the main problem with both of them is weight. The same can be said for the Air Arms guns.
12fpe guns don't need to be that heavy.
A 99s or 95 (?) will be just as accurate and won't break your arms.
I still have some reservations about the 95, which needs some kind of tuning. Unlike the 99s it was also designed for the higher power market.
If you'd consider a fairly heavy gun which was made to function at less than 12 ft lbs, the 35 (1950s design) may be the one for you.
Many don't like it because it looks like it came out of the ark. Others are turned on by its retro looks.
I happen to think it is one of the most elegant air rifles ever made.
I've had them all, and the heavy ones are almost impossible to shoot well without support.
Unless you happen to be Brian Sampson.

I wish I was in the land of cotton.
You need an FWB Sport and a Webley Longbow.
All of the above recommendations sound good to me.
