I keep getting drawn to playing with oldschool HW50s in my workshop, they're lovely, well made little things --- a bit like a dwarf HW35.

BTW did you ever do anything with that 77 action you had with the buggered welds ?

Another 80 Mick is that a hint ?

Agree about the old school 50's, I have one that was fettled by Steve Pope from back in the Venom days, although I refuse to refer to it as a dwarf 35 how could anyone love such a ugly creation. lol

I am a little surprised you remembered that 77 or perhaps I hoped no one would ever mention it again. It was an embarrassment at the time but now looks rather unique, I sorted the buggered Mk1 77 by drilling and pinning the barrel/block back in place, the rifle is now made up from several different 77 rifles parts, it has a full length barrel, carbine underlever, modified Mk2 catch, 26mm pock holed piston and a Webley pro system silencer, the main thing is it shoots straight .

If you really are after another Hw I will have to send you a pm in the not to distant future, it's not a 80 but it might float your boat.

    All the best

    I wasn't, but I'm intrigued now, John.

Been thinking this for a while

Same with all air rifles and prices have been going up for a while.

eg - Ones I am familiar with

    Brocock Compatto -2016 - £590
2020 - £770 = 30% increase. You can pay much much more if you add reg and soft touch options

    HW110 - 2016 - £600
    2020 - £750-785 = 25% - 30.8% increase

You can pretty much buy a decent (not overated/special edition) PCP and sell it for a profit after a few years. Heck, you could sell a lot of 90s airguns for a profit! The days of a £300 AA Prosport!

There are a number of retailers selling the HW110 at around £715 (new)

Personally I would still rather buy an older Springer at over half the price and spend a little more on a spring kit,

I think that most HWs and Air Arms are over priced these days.

The even bigger joke are people trying to sell used ones for pretty much the new price.
