Any of you Chaps able to recommend a 1" tube, variable focus scope?max objective lens size 40mm and I want to use it on 10x mag.
Reticle must be .22 friendly. I want to use the fixed rings on the MFR. My 50mm non AO prostaff touches the shroud

Heyup... you mean 40mm max OD for the objective bell, or 40mm lens i.e. allowing extra for the bell and AO ring ? I have a Konus 3-9x32 PA on mine, clears by loads. So I guess any 32mm AO scope will clear just fine. Why not go SF rather than AO ?
Always looking for any cheap, interesting, knackered "project" guns. Thanks, JB.

    Hi Pete
The Bushnell 3200 elite 10x40 I had on my 22 PE was a good combination. The mill dot spacing worked great for the ranges I was shooting out to.The glass is very good on these imo. I only sold my one because I didn’t like the big target turrets on it.

Side focus would be fine John. My prostaff 50mm is just a gnats too big and that's fixed . I have just been focusing (get it) on 30mm tubed scopes lately so a bit unsure of what is best going smaller. The weaver 3 x 10 I have on there now lines up well for me so I would like to keep the fixed rings apart from saving £ 60 or 70 by the time I have fitted an adapter and bought mounts for a new 30mm scope

I hope you have a most enjoyable and fruitful outing, Nick.

Er, "TX". Which TX? It's a bit like some of us saying, "I'll take a rifle along".

Ha ha , see what you mean it's my target gun started life as a mk 3 it has a 21 mm hard anodised aluminium comp tube, with a composite piston ring to seal shortish stroke titan no 12 with acetal guides, runs at 800 fps with aa express , also got a barrel weight on the front like a 97 but slips over the mk3 shroud so chunky 😁in a Warren Edwards walnut field target stock topped of with a home made riser rail and a big nikko.phew 😅

Ah, that beautiful shooting machine.. Have a most enjoyable and fruitful one, Nick.. Tomorrow will present ideal testing conditions for temperature shift (or not) with that seal.

    Great to hear, Pete.

Guessing they're Exacts that you're talking about. Strange, isn't it, how much different dies' and batches' performances can vary so much from one gun to another??????
