Always looking for any cheap, interesting, knackered "project" guns. Thanks, JB.
Had mine imported by my local gun dealer. It was only doing 5.5 ft lbs. Now doing 11.4 thanks to vmach. Very nice trigger, super lockup but EXPENSIVE...but I do like mine. Mach 1.5
Yup. Except the looks. I like the reported quality and general FWB specialness.
Yup, too. But I have a feeling this thing will not last long in the market, and few will be bought, so that in a few years time spending a gazzillion pounds on one now might seem to have been a bargain compared to spending a gigagazzilion pounds in a few years' time when they are out of production and only six of them got over here, and a bunch of collectors realise than they "need" one.
Think Sterling HR83. Brilliant, but deeply flawed, did not sell well when new. Now rather sought after. An 83 commands a 50-100% premium over a near-contemporary HW77, while being inferior in almost every respect as a thing to hit targets with.
that's true.. well engineered market failures have a habit of becoming highly collectible...

They appear to have set out to create a rifle with the looks that only a mother could love.
The breech block and trigger guard do nothing for the appearance. If ugly rifles become collectable this will be worth a fortune

I would agree. Just get hold of a nice "proper" one and enjoy that instead. You are all quite right of course. No doubt the currently available version will be worth a fortune as a collectable eventually. It is a shame that FWB couldnt be arsed to release a UK spec version. Regardless of looks I am sure they would have sold a few to those of us who still own the original version.

You would think they would have learnt after they released the FWB mk3?. On the plus side the trigger and lockup is much better than the old sport..but...they are overpriced, underpowered, 30mm piston and only .177. Mach 1.5
Indeed, as Mr Mach 1.5 states, the trigger and lock-up are FAR superior to those earlier guns.
Looks....to be fair, I was not impressed with the looks one little bit when just looking at images on the 'net. What the hell were those "ears" all about on the breech block? But then view it in the flesh, handle it, feel the precision and quality oozing out of every pore and you can't fail to be impressed.
But yes, still too pricey.
But I'd still like one!
