wheel weights are to hard for muzzle loaders and my trapdoor and sharps at low vel you require softer metal to engage rifling but i use wheel weights in vel over 1600 with gaschecks in my marlin..

I use wheel weights through my Vetterli at 1350fps. Anything softer, and it leads up for fun.

I've seen the bars of lead for sale in the MLAGB range warden's office at Wedgnock. Pretty sure its pure lead - I'll ask him this weekend whats-what.

Lead is abundant where I work.
In fact, I got 6 stone of lead for my mate who shoots a .577bp rifle and a .45bp pistol.

    He doesn't need anymore lead!

Been accumulating as much lead as I can before the EU decides to meddle. For a taster of what may come, please see this letter:

    http://www.pistolskytte.org/info/Swe...mmunition.html

Incidentally, the Swedish Chemical Agency and Environment Agency are the ones behind this move and they are pushing to make it EU-wide.
Yes but apart from that, Mrs Lincoln, what did you think of the performance?

That is a subject thats needs closer examination MM

Perhaps a case of dont ban guns just ban bullets
“If a cricketer, for instance, suddenly decided to go into a school and batter a lot of people to death with a cricket bat, which he could do very easily, I mean, are you going to ban cricket bats?” :- Prince Philip said after Dunblane

Yep. Just had a quick look at that document (216 pages of it!?) and from what I can glean, it would be a case of more nibbling at the edges and imposition of silly rules resulting in more expense to everyone. That would certainly be the European style.

I notice that of all the EU states, Britain (as usual) has most to lose, since according to the report it has the most sporting shooters (300,000).
