Cheers folks, scores added to results , see second reply on this thread.
Practise certainly does help I have found, when I first got my Gamo I had not shot pistole before and hitting the black was more luck than judgement, that was only a few months ago, now if I am outside the black I am dissapointed....I seem to get dissapointed more than I wish!

    Hi guys,

My scores were 41,42,43,44 = 170 which I was surprised and very pleased with, when the group size is taken into account

    Cheers

    Thanks Polly,
I tried it out with my Rohm Top afterwards and did even better, it's the trigger that makes the difference. Time for more adjustments and mods I think

    Cheers

Last two for this month from my chum John Brotherton: 38x50 and 40x50.

I shot 48x50 last Friday which pleased me no end but was too late for the competition. Maybe I'll put up some better scores in October.

    Regards to all competitors.

    Hello Gentlemen

My Compact should be turning up Friday morning. Any tips.
I'm excited it will be different than shooting the HW97, Park 91 and silver streak

Can anyone point me in the direction of a useful website or indeed a member near me, I'm in east sussex.

    Thanks Stephen

    HI Stephen
    welcome aboard.
can't help with members in your area I am afraid, but no doubt someone will be along who can.
One of the guys from the board (Nige) has a site with some excellent Gamo info and mods that can be done.
    see http://www.postcardfromspain.com/airgunclub.htm

    best tip...practice, practice, practice!
    It does work.

Try to cock the gun slighty away from your body as it is easy to trap part of yourself in it!

    Cheers

    October Scores

My October scores: 39, 41, 35, 44. I'm annoyed at myself for that 35. I know that I can do better than that! Best of luck to all shooting cards for October.

I know the feeling, you feel great, you have just done a good card and then without reason it all seems to go out the window, I usually sit down and have a Yorkie...or two!

    October scores

My scores from today, I nearly forgot to do this!!

Been in Scotland working and no practice this month and shot outside with it drizzling today. At least the sun wasn't shining in my eyes for a change

    1) 43 - 10-9-8-8-8
    2) 41 - 9-8-8-8-8
    3) 43 - 10-9-8-8-8
    4) 45 - 10-9-9-9-8

Total = 172 a slight improvement on last month with better grouping for the most part, but still not centred exactly on the bull

    Cheers

    John

And also avoid anything with caffene e.g. Tea, Coffee, Coke, Red Bull etc.
Chocolate is meant to be a good choice.

I think that actually helped, I only did 2 sighting shots as it was cold and getting wetter and just 'got on with it', no messing about and just shot without checking where they went, everything in the black and no corrections seems to help the grouping.

The daft thing is that I don't get any benefit from the trigger technique when shooting HFT as I shoot rifles left handed and pistols right handed.

    Cheers
