Max you must have been unlucky. Try WESTONS or THE AIRGUN CENTRE you wont be dissapointed.Dave
[warning - minor rant content]
Sent many an email off to various secondhand dealers in the past month - some recommended here, others not. Not one has ever replied to a simple, polite email asking if they have a particular classic gun in stock or would let me know if one appears.
Are they all doddery old gits who don't 'do email' or do they just not give a fig about doing business??!

Well done chaps. I was moaning about the small guys really - happens with so many companies though (gun or otherwise) - they just seem to ignore so much email...

Most gun shops I know are busy dealing with 'live' customers, in person and on the phone, during their opening hours, and staff only stay behind after closing time long enough to do the essential admin.
I imagine therefore that answering potential customers' e-mail generally comes too far down the job list to prevent such a backlog building up that they soon give up, and take the view that if someone is genuinely interested -and not just a time-waster- they'll give them a call.
Of course, some places are prepared to invest time in fielding queries by e-mail, which is great, but I still reckon a phone call is a better strategy on the customer's part in the majority of cases.
Never had problems with Lloyd from BAR!
Can take a few days if it's busy, but I always get a reply!
