When my faithful LP3 died a while back, after almost 30 years of sterling service, I was very saddened. It seemed that there was nobody who could fix it, in fact, none of the three specialists I asked about it held out any hope at all - one even suggested that I 'donate' it to him so that he could cannibalize it for spares that he could use for others, more fortunate than me, who had only 'minor' problems.
I'm pretty easygoing, but that seemed like giving away a LOT of money, so I regretfully declined his kind offer.
Finding this website was a gift from above, as I quickly found out the same evening I logged on. 'Lawrie Amatruda is your man' they said, 'he can fix just about anything to do with older air pistols'.
It's true.
He can.
He did.
In four days.
It took longer to get there and back than it did to carry out the repair - a rebuild to the piston assembly and a few doo-dads.
I've just been out in the backyard, shooting it, and it feels just like new.
Mr Amatruda - Thank you, Sir.
You've made an old fart very happy today.
