    MTC Cobra 3-9x42 AO

    Hi
I bought an MTC Cobra 3-9x42AO for £53. It came with a set of flip up covers and a pair of mounts with double screw which are of pretty good qua;ity.
The scope itself is very well made but has a very "basic" look about it.
The optics are very sharp and clear with excellent definition even at maximum magnification.
The AO ring and zoom ring are very, very smooth with no sound of grating or grinding.
It was bought to replace a Nikko Stirling Gold Crown Airking 3-9x42AO, the MTC has noticeably sharper optics at higher magnifications and just a brighter, higher contrast image.
The mildots and crosshairs are just a tiny touch too thick for my liking, the Nikko are much finer, but the MTC retcile is perfectly useable.

For the price I wouldnt recommend any other scope.
I would recommend this above any of the AGS and Hawke scopes.
In my opinion it is much better than a Bushnell Trophy scope that I had previously.

    A fine piece of glass.

    Thanks Andrew.

The Cobra was designed to be good glass in a basic package for the discerning shooter who doesn't need the bling.

Only thing I know is when I look through my Viper, anything I see is a target that will be hit immediately.

    Thumbs up

In the interests of free advertising for a great product...... Just posted this to another complimentary review I have found:

On the other end of the scale......

My shooting partner (and best buddy) has one of these mounted on her Sako 75 in .270win.

Groups very consistently and the adjustments seem to be close to the advertised size. The scope proved very easy to set up - and has held the zero perfectly.

All in all, she is delighted with the quality of the glass - often an issue when we are stalking Sika at first or last light.

The Sika don't think much of it at all!

Give MTC a bell. Ask to speak to the technical director, he is a fantastic bloke and an utter genius.

But the Cobra is advertised 25yards to infinity which doesn't sound like the ideal airgun setup?

Dunno where it says 25 yards Ken, it's 10- infinity
