last night at the club i shot my fwb127 against my omega trying to decide which i liked best and which one to keep.. and i must say both were very accurate, i found the sport a little easier to shoot [i havnt shot spring guns seriously for 20 plus years] ...

Yep, in .22 I do agree with you as imho the FWB Sport 127 has the slight edge over the Omega. But in .177, for me the FWB Sport 124 comes a very close 3rd to my Anschutz LG335 (2nd) and my Omega comes top (1st) .... As a foot note here, before I moved it on, my Diana Mod.45 held the last non medal position (4th) in my .177 break-barrel Pepsi Challenge although to be fair, you could hardly get a cigarette paper between them . i hope you dont mind a little hijack here but seeing as this a fwb thread
can any one give me some info on stripping the fwb sport im going to install vmach kit over the holiday period and no i havnt got a spring compressor??also i cant find a first stage on the trigger?any ideas?

Stripping the FWB 'Sport'.

Step 1. Get a spring compressor.

A threaded lug secures the trigger block and takes the pressure from the mainspring. Unscrewing the lug without first taking up the considerable pressure from the mainspring with a compressor will probably nadger the thread. The trigger block will then exit the rear of the cylinder at a velocity that places it well above the 12fpe limit.

On the subject of the Feinwerkbau Sport, would it be feasible to sleeve the breech-block bolt-hole and is there a practical replacement for the barrel latch when all the supplies of them have dried up?

Yes it’s possible, on my most used 124 I fitted a brass bush, must have been in about 1992. The idea being that the bush would wear rather than the bolt, as even then they were becoming hard to find. Been perfect ever since.

I wouldn't imagine it would be too difficult for a decent machine shop to make a replacement bolt but then again a one off may be costly.

Rustybuzz, I've enjoyed reading about the early days of FT. My 80 was tuned for FT by your uncle early in the 80's. They were two of the major players back then and I remember talking to both of them at numerous shoots in the South East during those years.

So NOT ELEY Wasps but the naff copies.

A well tuned 'Sport is one of the best - if not THE best springer IMO. Its a pretty easy rifle to work on with a spring compressor. Be extra careful when replacing the holding stud on re assembly as its easy to get this cross threaded.

I've used Superdomes in my 124 Sports since I can remember. They work, period. In .177 they are just superb.
