    Most popular classic?

    Hi,
I was just musing as too which airgun could be considered the most popular in the classics section? The BSA Airsporter always seems to get a mention but what about the mercury etc-would this be decided by desirability and or value?
Your thoughts would be appreciated if only to satisfy my curiosity! Do Jackals count?

    Hi Ulverston,
Have good fond memory of the faithful Airsporter, never kept the Mercury's long enough, they were just a means to an end the food on my table. I will get shot now by the Mercury fans.
Cheers Glynn. PS have one on your wish list.

Perhaps the title of this thread should read:

MOST POPULAR CLASSIC WHICH IS STILL IN PRODUCTION AFTER 50 YEARS.

All Webley pistols that were built on the Johnstone-Fearne design. From 1921to 2005? Might be the longest production run of any airgun (subject to changes on materials and details along the way). There must be vast numbers of them around in use or waiting to be recovered and put back into service. Everyone should own at least one and they make the perfect coming of age present for any young person.

    Good Question

As the saying goes its in the eye of the beholder some have been or was in production for years-Airsporter and the still made HW35.I would say they must be the most popular other wise they would not have stood the test of time.Myself remember the Original 50 and the Milbro Diana I had but sold when I stoped using them, then 25 years later got the bug again and wish I had kept them. What about future classics probably the AA400 due to the fact so many sold

If you're talking solely of Air Rifles, my favourite 'classic' is the Webley Service Mk.2, closely followed by the Mk.1&2 BSA Airsporter.
There are others I particularly like, such as the Webley Omega and Webley Tracker, the BSA Stutzens and the HW35/E and HW80, but I don't yet class them as 'classics', although the HW35/E comes close.
