Two good choices are the Weihrauch or the Hogan Decimeater. Both are very efficient and will tame the HW45's bark
Thinking of getting a silencer adaptor fitted to my HW45 either through Magicniner or UKNeil.
Can anyone recommend a silencer that will be ideal?
Ideally something small but effective, I know that the silencer wont be that effective on this springer, but I want it to be as effective as possible.
Any help will be ideal.
Thanks

Okay thanks,
do you know any average prices / lengths of the silencers?
Thanks

Length is around 180mm/7" being made of alloy they are really quite light.
Average cost £40-45 new, £30-35 S/H.

As I write, I am measuring up a silencer I have. It is bright stainless steel, 109mm long, 25mm diameter, plus a male UNF threaded bit 13.6mm long.
On my HW45, as near as I can tell, you can tap a 1/2in UNF thread into the plastic muzzle end (but take the barrel out first!!) The barrel is set back nearly 45mm from the muzzle end.
I will tell you later if it is feasible.

ps the silencer came off my old Falcon FN19.
Yes, I've just done it, but you have to be very gentle and accurate with the taps - use tapers first as the plastic is quite soft.
It is quite efficient. The silencer is very light, but it does impede the iron sights.
If you want the silencer, PM me your address - you can have it if you put £10 to Cancer Research, and I will put the same.

wouldn't most of the noise come from the actual spring twang? I always thought that a silencer was more for the advantage that tha quarry out at about 30 metres [with an air rifle] wouldn't be able to hear it so well.
