Thanks Fordies for a nice relaxed shoot, really enjoyed it.
I wonder if I will ever get to shoot without that unpredictable wind anytime soon so I can actually know if it's me, the rifle or the wind thats been why I've missed some of the easy targets recently

I know what you mean Steve, every shoot I have done in the last month or 2 has been in a really tricky wind. I've had 4 or 5 scores in the low 50's now, with the vast majority of points being lost to wind.

I lost one yesterday (no 11) a full 40mm kill at about 25 yards, to the left when the wind was coming from the left! It was behind that mound so there must have been some strange swirl effect - at least 3 others did the same. Strange old stuff.

Agreed Steve and Richard... if it wasn't for the mill pond weather at Shepreth giving me a healthy does of confidence in my gear I'd be doubting my kit right about now... anyone got a barn in Sussex big enough for a SiHFT shoot

Well I was happily nailing all the longer ones in the wind until I came upto a 35 yarder , gave it some wind just outside the kill and it went where I aimed . lol I really must learn to aim inside the kill with a light gust of wind but it's another lesson learnt .

Thanks Ford , thoroughly enjoyed the shoot , course and company . ( I will therefore change my meds and the normal ar$ehole Dave will resume in due course ) .

I attended Jim's funeral services today. Kirsty and James are exceptional people. Thank you to everyone who donated, I handed in the cheque for £150

Kirsty thanked me for attending and for the card which was signed at the Oaks by everyone.

Both services were so moving, young James is only 6.
