    Homemade Webley grips

I've made some replacement grips for my Webley pistols so that I can keep the originals out of harms way.
    Piccys here.

I made a mould from the originals and then made the copies with some polyurethane resin.
I know they're white, not black or brown, but I think they make a nice change.

    Cheers

    Nothing wrong with white grips.

You'll need to change your name so it's your initials at the top in that monogram, though.

Looks like you've made a good job of them, Garry.
Might be worth experimenting with colouring, as there were rumoured to be special pearl coloured grips at some stage.

Wow Garrym those are really nice copies, you could sell those all day long if they were brown or black.

    Thanks for the comments.
The black dye would have been another 20 odd quid for a really small bottle, so I didn't think it'd be worth it just for a few spare grips. I could get some though if you think people might be interested in the grips.

I would think there would be interest even just in the plain white.

Any chance of a "How to"?

    Hi Garry,

Fascinating, got to agree with the other chaps, they look excellent, even in white!...very well done

Hope you don't mind me asking?...how did you make the mould?...latex?, fibreglass?...potatoe?(joke!)...and did you have to vibrate it to get the resin to settle into the mould without leaving faults/bubbles?...(especially around the chequering!)...or were they injection moulded?...sorry for so many questions
    blah blah

    Smile

I actually like the white better than black/brown and would have some from you if you decide to 'go into production'

Trouble is that i have fur or five Webbo's that these would fit

I basically did the same as this bloke on you tube. There's loads of videos on how to do this sort of stuff, I didn't even know any of this existed till a couple of weeks ago.

I'm making some more today, just typing this while while some more grips are setting.

I've made some extra ones which I've put in the new items sale section if anyone's interested.
