Andy! I thought you'd have realised by now

Pretending to dislike FWB sports is a childish minor hobby of mine... I didn't really invent the game of 'FWB conkers' nor do I really have a 'sixer' that I baked in the oven!

Anything butchered by someone way out of their comfort zone...

BTW Gamo Compact is the only semi-decent gun in their entire range.
Yes, the trigger could be better - but there's nothing even remotely close to a target pistol for new starters at the price

Ooooo, I'd have to buy a FWB then bake it... I don't know... but I'm well tempted!

There's a chap I know who has a 127 (no iron sights, 'ox-ed up', and missing the barrel shims)... I've been trying to buy it for a few weeks now, he said I can have it for 60 quid... Hmmm, I was going to sell it for double on here, but the OX might make it stronger for conkers!

    Gems a love/hate relationship

Having read this thread, I'm surprised to see that nobody has mentioned the much maligned Gem pattern?...come on chaps, you all ignore them because of their wobbly barrels and wonky stocks, dodgy triggers and dangerous sears...even Guy gave up on the Gem I sent him!

If anyone has any old Gems that they are tired of kicking around, or perhaps you simply can't be bothered using it as a makeshift lump hammer/fencepost/sashweight anymore?...well, you know where I am

No offence taken old chap!...Gemtraps are banned here now so you did the right thing

I find that pickling said Feinwerkbau, then baking, leads to an even harder implement with which to play "Sport conkers." Bailing twine leads to many failures however, so I now use steel cable of 10mm diameter for that additonal insurance prior to taking that stock (or skull) smashing swing.

BSA Scorpion pistol..... I use the word pistol lightly
It is fugly ,heavy, long, a beggar to cock and the trigger units are a pain to work on.
A pistol is supposed to be a gun you can hold and shoot with one hand and that you can carry all day in a holster.
It is just a Meteor chopped off at both ends and shoved into a hideous plastic handle. Yeeeeeuuch.

German products in general leave me cold. I own many pistols, including an HW45 but I find that I really don't like Weihrauch guns in general. I'd flog off the HW45 in a shot if it weren't for the fact that my uncle left it to me in his will. It has a sentimental attachment even though I really don't like it, finding it ugly, graceless and characterless. But then I find this about German products in general, for instance I have never seen a BMW or Mercedes that I like, and not many Audis. Mercedes in particular are lumpen and ugly slabs of steel, with none of the grace of a Jaguar about them, technically good though they are. It's also true of planes, the ME109 is technically a great fighter plane but has none of the grace or charisma that the Spitfire has. From an engineering and quality point of view, German stuff can be hard to beat but I honestly think they can't make things beautiful.

That's why only around 10% of my airgun collection is German...
