I'd flog off the HW45 in a shot if it weren't for the fact that my uncle left it to me in his will. It has a sentimental attachment even though I really don't like it, finding it ugly, graceless and characterless. But then I find this about German products in general, for instance I have never seen a BMW or Mercedes that I like, and not many Audis. Mercedes in particular are lumpen and ugly slabs of steel, with none of the grace of a Jaguar about them, technically good though they are. It's also true of planes, the ME109 is technically a great fighter plane but has none of the grace or charisma that the Spitfire has. From an engineering and quality point of view, German stuff can be hard to beat but I honestly think they can't make things beautiful.

That's why only around 10% of my airgun collection is German...
Yeah I know what you mean, Just check this out:

I had to force myself to order one. My heart kept saying "no, stick with your MG Montego" but my head overruled it
Is there such a thing as owning too many guns?

There's the odd exception of course, and I'm not suggesting for a moment that an MG Montego is anywhere near as good a car as that, still I bet that costs many times more than a Montego did. I'd probably still find that ugly even if I could see the front of it though, it looks ugly from the side at any rate, to me.

It's hideous!!!! Looks like they took one of their other models and rolled it... Wouldn't mind a play in it though

As for guns, I don't like anything that looks like meccano holocaust. They just remind me of medieval torture devices. I mean what are some of those butt hooks about. I'd soon be out the window if my mrs walked into the bedroom brandishing one of those.

    Don't worry, you didn't, and I will

Re: the guns, not keen on the military looking ones, especially all in black. I likes a nice bit of Walnut.

Being a fairly newby on here, any gun I haven't got. Once I get it will like it, I think all guns are collectable it all depends on your preference really whether you specialise or just collect.

Any body got any guns they don't want or are chucking them out, send em over, making sure you miss Johnbaz's door of course.

Other guns I don't like: Co2 lookey-likey pistols that are plastic and monkey-metal, and BB guns.

I personally think that the Relum air rifle is still the standard by which all other springers should be judged. The Webley classic range of airpistols are also a damned sight nicer than anything the Krauts could manage.

To be honest, I cant really think of anything that wouldn't put a smile on my face, particularly if it had long legs, blond hair and understood that we need lots of time to enjoy our guns.

What calibre would the long legged blonde need to be?

Calibre is unimportant but a pulse or at least some warmth would be nice. We are, after all, talking to Relum and Webley pistol fan here.

I thought that the mental image of Eckland meets Welch in a lesbian liason was the cause of your "explosion" for a moment there Rick!
