Waiting a long time for a 77 Tyrolean stock...pleased i now have one

Thanks to BASA I have my Tyrolean, waited a while for one as im no where fast enough on the buy button when one gets posted to the for sale section

Anyway...gave it a light rub down, it was nice from the get go but a little pale for me on the sapwood and had the odd dent that i knew would come out..some had to stay but they add to the character i feel .
3 Coats of Alkanet oil to redden it up a little, then a darkened mix of Danish (5 coats) gets me this far, next up will be the finishing oil clear coats which I will do in a few days...had to see what an action looked like sat inside it

    Nice stock mate

Is that a CS one or something else?

    Matty
Opportunity is missed by most people, because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.

I don't think is a CS, actually thought it was a factory one although I am sure the experts here will let us know.

This action will not be staying in it, I have a .177 thats had the welds fully flushed and polished out prior to bluing by Colin, so with this stock sitting a little lower than a standard one that action will suit it better.

Den, the sun was in for those pics..it looks darker than it is BUT i like it just this dark hence clear coats from now on. The Akanet picked up the reds already there and brought them out a little more, its really nice with some sunlight on it

I will probably shoot it a little tomorrow and then start the 1 coat per day oiling over the next week, will probably oil is late on when the wife hits the sack so the smell does not kill her LOL

A venom stock...ooooerrr mrs, thanks Den
