Sussex Interclub HFT - Round 3 Results

    Hi All

Wow …. Not as much rain as the Swallows Monsoon shoot, but the Hawks sure did lay on some Mud, Mud, glorious Mud. Did I mention the mud …. and the leaves I found stuck to my objective lens. That and the very odd aim point variation from my ‘norm’ which meant that I should have aimed dead-on for the close supported stander. Hey, ho … better scores for Biggles at home in Round 4 (I hope!). Something we surely do NOT need to say for others, especially Eric, Steve, Richard and Derek and our Primary Class wizard – Stennar-the-younger.

Here are the full results – in the usual format – and with the usual request to PM me if you believe you spot any errors or omissions :

Team Results (in descending order of points achieved in Round 3)

    Round 1 Round 2 Round 3 Total
    Horsham 250 242 267 759
    Buxted 250 247 260 757
    Ford 240 255 256 751
    Oaks 261 265 248 774
    Swallows 219 221 143 583
    Iden Fern 250 240 141 631

With just one member each, both Iden Fern and Swallows FTC had to take advantage of the lucky-dip score card hat; being allowed 2 cards drawn at random. That’s how we achieved the 141 and 143 you see above.

Hope you all have as much fun as I will drying out and scraping the mud off your guns and clothing in readiness for Round 4, which will be hosted by Swallows FTC. The date for your diary – after a longer than usual break – is Sunday 3rd June. Yup, a whole month ‘off’, with time for those desperate for a GREAT comp in the meantime at the BARPC Bunny Bash.

Just a point of clarity .....

..... following a perfectly valid query raised via PM.

For the early days (1st couple of years) of the SIHFT, bonus/handicap points were awarded to all classes other than Open. From memory I think it was +2 for the Recoiling and .22 Class, +4 for Juniors and +6 for Primary.

This was changed last year, dropping all baran agreed +4 for the Primary Class.

The bonus is only effected for the purpose of Team scores. i.e. should a Primary Class shooter, with their +4 bonus, then be in their club's top 5 scores, their net score will count. It does NOT affect their individual recorded %age result or overall total (personal) score, as they are shooting for a Primary Class trophy all of their own.

    Hope this is clear.

No worries, glad we spotted it early, didn't think I was going to make it round either after having to beat the crap out of the MK-3 before each shot

Thansk Mike for getting those scores up fast, it's good to see the teams are a bit closer this year
Gonna be a long months wait for Swallows !

    Red face Apology

Sorry I missed this today. My wife ( and finally my brain ) decided this was not on for me as we drove back North up the A23 from Grand-Baby sitting last night.

But, 15/17 ahead ! Well done guys.

Stats were interesting! A Team cannot win with one shooter.

So - a four horse race?

Me - I'm backing the Oakies for 2012.

    See you all in June.

Really good fun day. I never shot over water before and now, I've not only shot over water, but through it.

Roll on June and the next one.
Wake up, there's no father christmas, no tooth fairy and no god. Get over it
