    Sporting Air Rifle

Some of enjoyed shooting SAR during its first incarnation (1994 onwards) using Derek Peckover's half-body targets supplemented by specials. We took all shots standing and many of us chose to use .22 break-barrel springers with low-mag scopes. I contend that HFT grew out of the old SAR concept but has now reached the stage FT was at when shooters started looking elsewhere for a down-to-earth alternative discipline. I look forward to trying out the improved-recipe SAR on Sunday using a .22 Pro Sport.
