    Baikal Makarov help

Guys, need your help. I need a valve seal for my gen 5 makarov. Its the one that sits in the mag head behind the washer, valve spring and valve. I've trawled the internet but dont really know where to look. I found a site called Rus military who are sold out. Can any one please help. I'm sorry if this has been covered before, its so much of a minefield and my head is firmly inserted in my rear end. Many thanks in advance.

The front seal that sits behind the washer seems to be the one seal that we haven't been able to find a replacement for.

As well as Rus military the seals kits are sold buy the popular German site. Issue is you have a minimum postage to pay (£16 I think) so better off buying other stuff or a gun etc as well

You may also want to try lawrie Amatruda I know he has done work on Mak and may be able to fabricate the seals or repair mag if you send to him. He is on this forum, I guess a PM to ask wouldn't hurt?

    HI,
Do you mean the part that rusmilitary calls a Valve Saddle?

If so, then I'm suprised that yours needs replacing on a gen5?
Have you tried a total strip clean and rebuild of the mag head?
Sometimes that's all that is needed to fix little leaks.

No, its the other end of the valve. The seal goes in followed by a washer followed by the spring, then the valve, then the saddle. Thanks anyway though.

These do discolour and seem to harden. How bad is yours?
Is it still a tight fit to the valve if you push it on?

I have found a short term fix is remove the washer protecting the seal. Spring pushes more and to seals. Only short term though as I'm sure spring will damage it in the end (hence the washer).

Could also try removing and leaving to soak in pellgun oil for a while
