Cool Sussex Interclub HFT 2016 - Round 3 Results

    Hi all

Another great round in the 2016 Sussex Interclub series, hosted by Swallows FTC. Turnout increased to 75 for today, which is brilliant.

Different course – again – at Swallows FTC, this time restricted to the north field and lake. On the plus side, this did make for a much shorter/circular walk, rather than the very long trek south when we had access to the south field and woods.

While this morning’s checkers came in from the course convinced that there would be many clearances, from a personal perspective today delivered a pretty much perfect outcome.

Our best-of-the-best just (but only just) missed out on Clear Round badges, while the less experienced and complete newbies were rewarded with respectable scores and badges and I heard of several personal best results. From the latter groups, big well dones go to Swallows FTC newcomer and Junior (Roddy) scoring a 39 in his first comp and earning a Bronze badge and Carla achieving a PB of 52 using her dad’s gun; not sure he’ll get that back in a hurry

Here is the full set of results …..

Please let me know a.s.a.p. if you spot anything you think is amiss.

Prize drawer winners today were :

    • Chris Tyhurst – the £38 cash prize, and
    • Steve Cumming – the Air Arms goody bag

During the post-shoot announcements, I declared Team scores which proved to be wrong. Sorry! In the peace and relative quiet of home, I spotted that the spreadsheet still recorded Tugg as a Buxted member, where this year he’s firmly attached to MAD. As a result, today’s adjusted team scores and cumulative points won are :
    Club Round 3 Points
    Maldon 290 23
    Oaks 282 34
    Meon Valley 273 33
    Buxted 272 29
    Ford 266 23
    Horsham 259 25
    Swallows 257 21
    Iden Fern 228 16

Happy and safe shooting to you all ahead of round 4 of the 2016 SIHFT, which is in three weeks on the 5th June at Horsham Hawks.

In the meantime, best of luck to the SIHFT participant crew heading ooooop North and West to Furnace Mill for round two of this year’s UKAHFT. For the rest, happy and safe shooting wherever you may be.

Many thanks to everybody at Swallows for their time and effort in setting an interesting and challenging course today - and for keeping the bad weather away; also to those who run this series so professionally for the benefit of us all. A most enjoyable morning. Thank you.
    Very best wishes,
    PJ

Brilliant course, thank you Mike and the Swallows team.

Thank you Charles for showing me how it should be done. You da man

That lake, wow, was that wind tricky or what? 7 plates in a row Lots of wind,no wind, lots of wind, no wind, lots of wind etc and yet it looked the same for each shot

    Much to learn.

Well done to anyone above 55! (55 was just so average....)

As Mike said, Swallows in particular seem to have the 'difficulty level' just right, to prevent clearances but produce some good scores!

I couldn't hit anything so to cheer myself up i did my best to make Simmo miss even more! ...least i'm happy!

Great shooting by train driver and Vince, also to Bob 'The man' twanger pilot!

I was standing next to a Swallows member (terrible at names really sorry) and he was chuffed to bits with his PB and first badge i think!
I mean really chuffed, that is what it is all about!

Nearly, but not quite. Actual average was increased when compared with rounds 1 & 2, but still just 50.5.

Thanks to Mike and all the Swallows massive for laying on a great course, spat my dummy out twice but really was just operator error.

Superb shooting Admiral Pickett and congratulations on your new PB and your first Gold!

Pleased with my measly 52 and thanks to Simmo for taking pity on me and equalling my score (there you go Spongey)

Haha think that was me Im from Buxted of course and ive had loads of other badges, but my first gold!!!

You were right though I was chuffed to bits!!!!

Great course swallows maybe a bit easier but no one cleared it and i do think it would encourage a lot of people if we had more courses like this!!!!
