Thank you for all the nice comments I appreciate it. For you guys out there that think the Webley Longbow is the best British break barrel, I guess straight from the factory. I would like to put forward the Theoben Grand Prix in .177, but pre He. This one has a period Simmons scope, and the Theoben sling with the early blood red liners.

OK, the Theo GP is very nice. I have not had one, only a regular Sirocco.

The GP is kind of an FT rifle from the 80s (where it did not prosper against the FWB124 and later HW77). The Longbow is a pure sporter. And a light one. Apples and oranges.

I guess the best ever British b/b is the Venom Mach1. But they only made, like, ten of them.

Hi Geezer, I'm sure you are correct with your thoughts on the GP in competition, I take your word on it. (I have a FWB124 and a HW77 made at a similar time, but for me they are not as good quality as the Theoben GP the sale price at the time I would say reflects this.) But as you say Apples and Oranges... the GP is a rifle straight out of the Theoben shop, the Mach1 is a full blown custom so shouldn't really be compared. I'd love to handle a Mach 1 never mind own one, which would be amazing.

    Brumbow

As a matter of interest, what stock is it?

I have a few with thumbhole stocks, mainly robbed from SE models or CS700.

    Can't seem to post pics!

The Longbow is the rifle the Vulcan always should have been.
The South of England has 2 good things, the M1 and the A1. Both will take you to Yorkshire.

    Here is mine.
Shrouded Sidewinder barrel, selected walnut stock, no writing on cylinder as was one of SfS Phantoms that was not made, it has V-Mach internals, I only replaced the inside just over 18 months ago, I kept the original insides should a collector ever want them down the line, maybe 600 shots fired since new.

Maybe take a better pic in the daylight one day.
