That was the question of the original post,

'NOT including Henrk Krank, who in the UK can get me a Pedersoli rifle?'.

So do I take it I can buy one from any UK gun shop?

Seems to me an odd question.

If you buy it from the main brand importer, that's one price. But surely you don't expect to buy it cheaper off another dealer who has to buy it from Kranks in order to sell it on to you?

Or have I got the principle of trade and commerce mixed up with something else?

Most dealers of my acquaintance are required under terms of fair trade to NOT undersell the distributor who might, as Kranks in this instance, also sell the guns retail. Krank's, TMK, are not a company like John Lewis Partnerships with their 'never knowingly undersold' motto. All reputable gun dealers are members of the Gun Traders' Association, and are bound by their rules.

So you get an idea in your head and run with it.

    Yes, see ya.

In case you hadn't noticed, you were totally off track, my enquiry has NOTHING to do with getting it cheaper !!
So your patronising explanation of how commerce works was of no use.

Hawken, percussion, right handed, 50 cal.

Ardesa and Thompson Centre used to make them (excluding the originals), but both companies no longer make them. Ardesa on the face of it do, but in reality they are not available according to HK.

There is a reason why I'm asking about buying this rifle from a different shop other than HK. I actually expect to pay more if I get it from a local shop (or other). I am not going to say the reason for buying from another shop, but it's nothing to do with money.

I have been trying to buy a second hand one and ran a wanted here and 3 other sites as well as my club (yes I belong to one!) and scan the two big UK gun selling sites all the time. If I could buy a great condition SH one, I'd be very interested, but as common as they are in the US, over here, they are like hens teeth SH. I was offered a nice one via a fellow club member, but it was the wrong brand and the wrong caliber for me.

Ideally, I'd like a TC Hawken as I like the idea of the quality and the hooked barrel. Pedersoli make a great Hawken (without the hook), and I don't know where to buy a new one other than HK, hence the question.

To be frank, I can't afford any other rifle and the Hawken is the lowest cost rifle Pedersoli make, and on a happy coincidence, the Hawken is my favourite looking Muzzle loader.

    hawken,

    GOOD CHOICE,
    I have .45, .50, .60 cal Hawkens, although the 60 is a smooth bore,
the Pedersoli 50cal is my favourite black-powder muzzle-loading rifle,
but was a night mare to get hold of, a very well made rifle, compared to the others on the market,
my 45cal is an Ardesa, not as refined as the Ped, but shoots just as accurate,
won many a comp with it,
I wish you luck as I know how hard it was to get mine,
    T

Thanks, but I don't want to import as I can't be bothered with the hassle of importing and having it have to go through a UK proof house to make it legal.
