Are people really crazy enough to pay £150 for a Webley Mk3 stock?

Amateurs probably. They could get far more for it by turning it into a standard lamp and sticking it in the window of a London Antique shop!

I was just sniffing through the Webley items on there and and came across a stock with a 'buy it now' price of £110 and a loading tap at £60ish, rear sight at £35, and so on......

Yes, I'd noticed that as well Peter and also considered it as I have one or two to dispose of, as the complete rifles don't seem to make the same sort of money.

Sights can fetch £25-35 but doing an advanced search on completed items shows Stocks selling for up to £40 and barrels/aircylinder units going for £10-20. I think the adverts you stumbled upon are a Chancing dealer

The prices are high, but it doesnt mean they will get sell. There's a Hammerli 4** series rearsight thats been on the bay for about a year or longer, because its overpriced. The prices are way too high. The only person who would buy a loading tap for a Webley Mk III is one who would be on the BBS already and no way would they pay £60 for one.

Just looked into it again and think it poses an interesting question. the seller of the parts you found appears to be a 'general dealer' doing house clearances etc. As their business is buying and selling, would they fall foul of the firearms act if they sold a complete rifle found in a clearance. Maybe stripping and selling parts is a way round this?

I'd buy an Estwing or a Stanley, probably do a better job.
