So sorry to read about Steve ( been away from Air Rifles shoulder injuries), he did many air rifles for me, always a gent to speak to and ready to give advice, also had one rifle venom tuned by his farther.

When you lose, don't lose the lesson
I'm at a loss for words to have just read of this. I knew Steve over the years because of the work he undertook on my springers. His work is legendary but more than that, he was one of the nicest most genuine of persons I have ever met in my life, and I've met a few. I feel privileged to have met him. He was one of those guys who you would walk away from after talking to him at his workshop or at DAI wishing you had mates like him. Very sorry for the family he has left behind. I know he will be sorely missed by all who knew him personally but also by those who he worked for remotely. RIP.

The loss of airgun pioneers such as steve are a massive loss. Steve, john whiscombe etc are massive losses to us who admire their skill and love for their trade and airguns in general. Hope you and john are hitting the bullseyes up there and supping on a cold one after. Rip steve your skill will be truely missed by all who admired it. Rip
