    How to tell what MK my Meteor is?

    Is there a way to tell what MK my Meteor is? I’ve had it from new, 30 years 7 days exactly.

    Meteors Mk's may be identified by the serial number prefix on the underside of the breech.

    Mk1 = N & T 1959/62
    Mk2 = NA & TA 1962/68
    Mk3 = NB & TB - NG & TG 1966/73
    Mk4 = NB & TB - NG & TG 1974/79
    Mk5 = NH & TH 1979/93
    Mk6 = ZE & WE 1993/2012
    Mk7 = QF 2012

    Hope this helps Regards Bill

    Can I ask a related question on this thread rather than start another please?
    I have a MK5 stock (no action), will it fit any other models?

    You have to lengthen the cocking slot to get it to fit earlier , one piece cockinging arm models.

    Hi Bill,

    Do you know if both .177 and .22 Mk7s were prefixed with QF?

    Kind regards,

    John

    Hi John sorry not sure with regards to the mk7 prefix. I suspect that it is the same for 177/22 but as I say not sure .Maybe someone else with more info may chip in.
    Regards Bill
