    Omega spring help

Hi all, does anyone happen to know the spring specs/dimensions of a Webley Omega?

I have a selection of springs in the bottom of my toolbox, thought I’d try before buying a new one.

    Any help appreciated, Atb Woody.

Sorry, I'm unable to answer that. I've just had a look on the Mainspring Data Thread and I can't see the dims there neither, I'm afraid. Someone's bound to shout up......

Have you got the old one? count coils, measure id and od, wire diameter and length, some allowance for compression if the old spring is worn .. and try and match the old to one in your box?

    Cheers, Phil

    Our scribbles say Omega .177 Carbine. 238 mm x 20.5 OD x 3.2wire x32/30 coils x 38 lb.f/inch rate. 11+ fpe, 8.44 gn Exact.
Guessing a bit less spring for longer/larger calibre barrel.

    Thanks for the reply’s

Yet to strip her down, but can measure what is in there, if original!

Wouldn’t mind knowing the correct “free” length. Titan no8 spring for Omega says 295, sounds a bit long? I know most need cutting down to some degree but a starting point other than 295 would be useful.

    Many thanks, atb Woody.
