Maybe a silly question but did BSA air rifles come with one of these or were they an extra that owners bought seperately?

They came with pre WW1 BSAs as standard and were atached the the trigger guard wih a piece of string. Nonetheless, an easy item to lose, hence their rarity today.

    I'm going with £87

    WebleyWombler, I know!

    Kind regards,

    £96.96 here

And no I am not bidding as have one already.....but 100% no idea where as have not seen it for years!

Probably the most pointless actual tool unless you have a boxed gun to keep it safe, or a slip with a pouch. BSA should have done a Lee style butt trap, but then I suppose they would have not been so rare

There must be 1000's out there that have been lost or binned with grandad's old rusty tools......I often used to mooch through old cantilever boxes at car boots which had old tools in, and that's how I found mine!

Another good day was about 10 Webley Special oblong tins with tacks and washers and the like in, making a change from the usual Old Holbourne tins that seemed to be the "Dad's Standard"

Luckily the late owner was more of a shooter than a smoker!

Sorry, that's just mad. Supply and demand is no doubt the reason, but it's not exactly a work of art!

    Wow,

I'm keen but that is way over the top if that was a genuine bid!

I'd say the winning bidder was at his wits end with his old BSA's dicky trigger and realised there was no other solution...
