Close this page, clear your history, delete any links to the BBS from your favourites/bookmarks. You DON'T need to clear cookies OR passwords.

Open a new page, type in the address you wrote down and enter (if autofill offers up ANY options you haven't deleted ALL previous links). You will need to log in again. Once in, either save this page as a favourite/bookmark or navigate to your preferred landing page and save that.
    Job done.

    Doesn't work.

Browsers now make suggestions based upon your previous history even if you clear your history and cookies. So if I start typing a for airgunbbs it gets there first, drops the https and www. and throws me to the non www. airgunbbs instead, for which a cookie isn't being saved and I have to log in again.

All it needs is the htaccess file fixing, it's like day 1 stuff.

It's not like the site is https compliant anyway... there's no padlock icon.

    Thank you Chris,

That seems to have worked for me and I'm a numpty when it comes to anything more technical than flicking a light switch.

    Kind regards,

Even if your browser is throwing up the suggestion ignore it and keep typing the https://www.airgunbbs.com address before you press enter. (You can test this by throwing in a deliberate spelling mistake and you will get a "this site can't be reached" error).

I was getting the error, but then the penny dropped. I was using a shortcut on the New Tab in chrome, that gets added automatically based on common useage. The URL for it was http not https I changed the URL in the shortcut & BINGO!
    Thanks Chris.

    Thanks Chris.

I seemed to have fooled it with some brute force typing and now suggestions have accepted the new address.

For folk like yourself (who are bit more tech savvy) that is the quickest way.

If it helps anyone else :-

If you are using a desktop shortcut, right click it and select edit. Then just add the s to http (or just type https://www.airgunbbs.com) and then save.
If you are using favourites or bookmarks, open the favourite/bookmark list, find the agbbs link, either right click (if using a pc) or tap the three dots (at the right of the link) and then edit the address as above.
After this you may be asked to log in again but only the first time (as long as you tick remember me).

Editing the bookmark if you have one seems the quickest way. Just did mine and it seems to have solved the problem. Didn't have to log in again either. I'm using Firefox.

Been getting the same. I have started hitting the help tab. Look at the top once it loads, logged in is shown.
Continue browsing site as normal afterwards

As above for Leafy. Also delete any bookmarks. Then log in as normal, clicking 'remember me'. Create new shortcut and bookmark or whatever.
    Cheers, Phil

PS: what I do not understand is why everyone was not affected as soon as the site address changed? I had been using the old address for access for some time before I was affected.

If you are using a desktop shortcut and you have added the s in the correct place, it will work.
If you have edited a browser bookmark or favourite, it will work if you navigate to that favourite/bookmark in the list.
But if you just start typing airgunbbs and allow autofill (or search suggestions) to complete the address (like you did previously) it will be taking you to the old address if you haven't already deleted all reference to the agbbs from your browser/search history.
