I have a vague memory of a friend having one when we were kids but says he can't remember it and not sure that they exist, has anyone had one and what would they used be for?

I had one years ago, used an almost dust like shot, used mainly on rats etc at short distance.
Thanks guys, I'm pleased that I didn't dream it
I had one had an effective range of about six foot on rats !
I used to shoot "shotgun like" shells out of my Uncle's .22 rimfire. Essentially a crimped ended rimfire cartridge with small shot inside it.
I once shot a rat running along an overhead lighting cable in his mill house with one. Very low power but enough oomph at 5 yards I guess

Had a Webley smooth bore .22 shotgun for quite a few years & my introduction to shooting was at a relatives farm mid 60's with one but I think that was a rifle as it had bullets as well. Pretty sure CCI still do shot shells in .22

WANTED. UNF MOD.
Garden guns came in .22 rimfire shot shells and 9mm rimfire shot shells.
Master Debater
Shot with a standard .22 rimfire rifle, Semi autos had to be hand cocked after each shot as there was not enough oomph in the shells to reload the next,
