O rings / brass inserts sound excellent, I asked because below the lever side of the tap on the stock mine is small area that is darker than the rest of the wood.

Perhaps grease may have leached from tap during 30+ years of storage?
Or just from where the wood may have been refinished (unknown) and was applied heavier in that area?
It is GM model with a Matt finish and in good condition for age.
Or even someone’s hand during use over time, Don’t know.

Hopefully with the methods previously suggested to check tap integrity then I will know once re-assembled and that it doesn’t leak

I had o ring grooves added to the tap on my 22 Airsporter S. These went round the diameter of the tap either side of the pellet hole but then I had grooves milled across above and below the pellet hole to form a kind of square in which I could seat an o ring. This has worked well and now the gun makes reasonable power where as before no matter what I did it wouldn't go over 8 ft lbs.

Yep my Stingray kit turned up as well, not got much chance of fitting it until after New year as down south with the parents in law all over Chrimbo, I've got the Titan spring kit to fit in the Airsporter as well.

    New parts fitted
Just used one power washer to start with.
Have now got a Lmbr chronograph and tin of Superdomes and Ftt pellets, so need to clear a bit of space in garden at the weekend for some testing and hope all is good.
Cheers for everyone’s help along the way, it is much appreciated

    Excellent stuff.

How does it feel to cock and de-cock? Much smoother I guess?

Will look forward to hearing how the testing goes.

Unfortunately it was seized solid before I started repairs so don’t remember [35 ish years ago ) if it is smoother than before.

Cocks and de-cocks absolutely fine with perhaps more tension than I may have expected, no doubt the ‘newness’

Should probably stop watching these ‘sorted, tuned, upgraded’ top end Weihrauch and Air arms etc rifles on you tube though!

Very much looking forward to some numbers at weekend
