    Eley wasp

I read in one of the air rifle mags that the Eley wasp has been relaunched,
I remember reading in the past the design of these has changed over time and not necessarily for the better,
Has anyone tried the newest new ones yet?

They are not Eley ,just Wasp. The Eley machinery is long gone.

These are not the same as the wasp that were made before either. They are different.

Vmax on the left , wasp pn the right.

They look like the Webley Vmax pellets.

I am not a 'branding name' person. A tool has got to get the job done.

Regardless of the name, are these any good as a pellet?

You are better off with H&N, RWS, JSB or Bisley.

I have tried the vmax pellets and there not complete dogs, but like all pellets some barrels good, some poor.
The way the add was worded I thought the old wasp design had been attempted again.
As the pictures kindly added by bighit show I'm mistaken! They look nothing like them. Martin

Agreed. And one or two of these esteemed manufacturers also now offer "budget" ranges to suit that market, if desired. As an example, I've tired the H&N Excite Hammer in .22 in a couple of my guns and they seem very good at the price point. I'm sure a few on here have commented positively as to the performance of the wadcutters in .177.

Have a look on our fine sponsor's site to gauge the vast range and check out prices.

Strange how the blurb just harps on about past memories etc and makes no mention of quality / performance of the "new Wasps".. Just a load of flowery twaddle.

Tried them in .22 in a few of my guns older tap loaders and some modern springers even tried them in my mk2 rapid they perform good in all, the weight is 14.8 grains, also have tried the ribbed version excite hammer they also perform well both pellets are made by H&N and are a bargain.

    Eley wasp

The nearest thing to the old wasps are the feild target trophys in the largest head sizes for
old .22's. The original wasps were equal to the german pellets in quality easily though.

    Hi there
I sent my work mate to mole valley farmers for 2000 Webley accu pell because they had them on offer!
They were sold out so he went to a nearby shop and bought 3 tins of the bisley wasp as he thought he was doing me a favour🙄 so I’m praying they are accurate 🤞🏻
