I've had this knocking around for a few years and finally decided to try and do something about it. I got it alongside a BSA cadet as a swap with another gun. Having realised how much of a state the Hammerli was in when I started dismantling it, I ended up just writing it off as a basket case, and leaving it alone.

I've decided to see what I can do about it. I want to see if I can get it shooting nicely, and then I might try and address the finish on the metalwork.

The most shocking thing about it is the piston seal. It's got actual nails embedded in it, and I can't possibly imagine how that's happened, unless someone literally dropped them down the barrel while it was cocked, trying to turn it in to a blunderbuss!?

It's a 25mm cylinder, with an m5 screw holding the piston seal, and so I've ordered a conversion so I can use a weihrauch style synthetic seal in it.
