    Walnut stock. Care

    What is the best to use on a walnut stock to protect it from finger marks ect.

    If bare wood, apply oil with wire wool, wipe off excess. Follow the instructions with the oil. I use liberon finishing oil.

    If finished wood, clean the surface. Apply polish.
    Or clean the stock with methylated spirt and fine wire wool.
    Apply oil of your choice.

    Boiled linseed 2/3rds to 1/3rd white spirit will give a nice finish
    Wire wool or flour paper will fill pores in wood too if you want to have a ‘sealed’ finish
