    I picked up some scopes today to compare the AO versus SF today...the AOs twang, the SFs and fixed parallax were quiet. Just the way it is it seems

    Not necessarily. I dont own any SF scopes, only fixed and AO. Only a few of the AO's twang, the Stoeger 3-9x and a Tasco 6-24x.
    Too many airguns!

    If look into the front lens on an adjustable parallax scope you will see a large spring in there this pushes the lens when you adjust it. On side focus and none adjustable models they dont have it this is what vibrates and make the noise.
