BSA Ultra MMC - Stock Upgrade???

Morning all...... I recently inherited a mk1 Ultra MMC as a project.

I'd like to upgrade the basic beech stock to something a bit nicer. Knibbs list the later-shape walnut stock, but don't have any available

Anyone know of an alternate source, or an aftermarket Ultra stock? CS only list the S10 on their site.....

    Cheers

The walnut stocks are long gone and even the later SE beech stocks are hard to get.

As far as I'm aware, there are no, off the shelf custom stocks available for the Ultras, so you're into a true one off custom made stock and the cost that that will entail.

I have a modified (raised cheek piece) Ultra SE stock in the sales section which is cheap enough for a project rifle.

Getting hold of one of the Hydrographics-designed older synthetic stocks would probably be an ergonomic upgrade if not an aesthetic one. They had a good high comb and vertical grip and imo were one of the best bog-standard stocks made that didn't have adjustable parts.
Not sure why BSA stopped using them but it was a backwards step IMO.

I remember doing that conversion. I didn't know it ended up with you, Rob !!

To the OP, here is the stock with an action fitted.

Sorry Rob, didn't see your post when I wrote mine.

OP that's a bargain and you won't get many better offers. Pick that up along with a Bisley adjustable buttpad and you're laughing.

Hmmmm thanks chaps - sounds like my options are severely limited.
