Very nice Peter. You certainly find the good stuff.

Never seen one in the flesh until this one turned up yesterday.....
I believe Danny has a photo on his excellent site and of course, one is featured in the best BSA book.

Have bought 2 very early postwar BSA Lights in the US both had this sight? I wonder if this was a export upgrade at the time right after WW1? This one is my favorite shooting rifle cause the sight was factory installed and the stock was customized.

Delighted for you Binners!
OOoh I likes that I want one.
does it swing back and forwards ? Can you fine tune the speed to use it for running boar ?
Always looking for any cheap, interesting, knackered "project" guns. Thanks, JB.
You can see that he drilled the aperture to a much bigger hole?
Had no idea they were that rare? The lower one makes some sense since it was a 1919 and the buyer was a championship small bore shooter over here. BSA had displays at their national meets. He would have bought the best sight possible? The other one is a 1920 have no history on the rifle but the sight was not factory installed.
Thank you both for the very interesting photos. I've never seen one of these sights before, what an ingenious design.
