One definition of a pillock is someone who is normally of reasonable intellect but has made an uncharactaristically stupid error.
The single pump pneumatic P17 gradually became unusable because it discharched its air upon closing the gun. Bugger. No doubt repairable but I'm not good at finding essential parts that go ping never to be seen again.
I own it not just for plinking but also (mainly?) as an air blasting tool for clearing gas or petrol jets and the like. Dry-firing is allowed with SPP. Great for flies and spiders too.
There is a dowel pin one inch forward and slightly downhill of the latch/hammer. It had drifted slightly out of place. Small shoemakers hammer tapped it back in. Abt a years worth of use had been wasted. Why had I not seen that protruding pin before?
If you have an airgun wot don't work DON'T FORGET TO LOOK FOR THE BLEEDIN' OBVIOUS
