Last time I was in Clay Cross Airguns (Derbyshire) there was one in the second hand gun rack, it was all complete and shot very well.
It's been there a while so it's probably still there now.
If you're in need of parts I suspect that might be the only way to get them.

I didn't realise I owned a Marksman 1790 until I just googled it as mine is marked as a Beeman Biathlon trainer.

I lent mine to a BBS member to compete in a big bell target competition --- he won it.

The breech seals seem to be the main part that needs replacing, I have replaced 2 on these rifles, punched them out of polyurethane. I seem to remember a few of the internals were cast zinc alloy (Zamak) which probably could b hard to find if broken.

Hi Baz.... you have got it.. I've had no luck finding one - and am going to do the same as you have - make one from silicon rubber sheet.

I think you're right. its a favour for a friend who said it wouldn't fire a pellet!

As soon as I broke the barrel it became obvious that the breach seal was missing.... and putting my finger over the TP (very carefully) it was generating some air pressure.

Im planning to make a seal out of a suitable thickness silicon rubber sheet.

    Cheers

I understand they are quite accurate and probably great for 6m - however they seem to be entirely constructed from die-caste 'monkey metal'

Just tried a rubber tap washer.
Fitted a teat .... and it now fires a pellet.
I'll put it over the Skan in the Morning.

I wouldn't worry too much about it being over 12ftlbs.

I think Crosman also made them or marketed them, It might open up some more search options.

    390fps....just under 3fpe

    Does that sound about right?

I'm astounded by the poor quality of the 'monkey metal' castings....I've seen almost 70 year old 'spud guns' of similar quality(poor)

    Cheers Steve
