So was the "gammon" a predictive text issue or deliberate?

Guessing from the feel of your post that you weren't tempted with any of them then, Pete?

As far as the gammon comment it was the predictive text trying to "help"
Nothing there tempted me. He did have a Mitchell 301 reel that was quite nice but as it was for a left handed fisherman no use to me

I have a Mitchell 300 and a 440 Match and still use them which usually gets comments on the bank.

I have a Mitchell 300 bought for Christmas from my Mum and Dad.

I have my dad's Mitchell reel which he fitted a bail arm too because it only had half a bail arm.

    Mine gets used occasionally.

15 minutes in the garage and a bit of a spray of 3in1 and she's up and running. Amazing, not pretty but it works like it did 40 years ago. Shame I can't get any volume so you can hear how smooth it is.
