British Air Rifle Championships (B.A.R.C.) - 3rd July at M.A.D. (Maldon & District)

Only a few short weeks to go until the British Air Rifle Championships at Maldon & District Air Gun Club (M.A.D.) on Sunday 3rd July!

With a 40 target Field Target course set to BFTA rules and a 30 target HFT course set to UKAHFT rules, this unique competition will test shooters across both disciplines, with the overall winner being the shooter with the best combined percentage scores from both courses.

As in previous years, that renowned Mr Richard Woods will be applying his fiendish skills to ensure that both courses provide goodly measures of pain, anguish and maybe even enjoyment for all competitors; he doesn’t discriminate between FT and HFT shooters - he likes to see everyone suffer regardless of what their regular branch of air rifle shooting is. What we can guarantee you is an absolutely first class day’s shooting, and enjoyment by the bucketload.

We pride ourselves on handing out absolute top quality glass trophies to those who can meet the challenge of a unique competition in the world of air rifle target shooting - none of your cheap, tacky, tiny plastic cups or plaques at the B.A.R.C., we’ll have you know!

1st-3rd place trophies are up for grabs in both the Field Target and HFT categories, a very splendid one for the overall winner (who will also go away at the end of the day with enormous bragging rights), plus a special trophy will be up for grabs for the highest combined score across both courses using a recoiling or .22 rifle. And as if that wasn’t enough to tempt you, there’ll be a generous cash prize “Bonus Bunny” draw as well!

No need to book in advance - just come along on the day.

The fun starts at 10.00am, preceded by the all-important safety brief that every competitor must be present for.

On-site catering. £20.00 entry fee (£12 if you are a complete wimp and just wish to shoot one course)

Maldon & District Air Gun Club, Howe Green Rd, Purleigh, nr. Maldon, Essex CM3 6PZ

    STOP PRESS!!

The last few years have seen a big increase in the popularity amongst both able-bodied and less agile shooters of using shooting sticks, so avoiding the need to be continually be getting up and down to take their shots.

Just as a growing number of clubs have set up a dedicated “Stick” or “Para” class to reflect the growing number of shooters competing using shooting sticks, there will be a trophy up for grabs at this year’s British Air Rifle Championship (B.A.R.C.) for the highest score obtained shooting off sticks - which is DEFINITELY not as easy as you might at first think!

With the high price of both petrol and diesel these days, travelling to competitions can be expensive - but if you’re the lucky winner of the £100 Bonus Bunny cash prize draw at the British Air Rifle Championships!

Alternatively, rather than squander your winnings on fuel, you could far more sensibly invest the money down the pub…….

Here at British Air Rifle Championships headquarters we’ve just taken delivery of the stunning trophies that’ll be up for grabs at the B.A.R.C. on Sunday 3 July at Maldon & District Air Rifle Club (M.A.D.)

As you can see, we are firm believers that the trophy winners deserve a quality piece of glassware to take home, and trophies will be awarded in the following categories:

1st-3rd place for the highest Field Target scores

1st-3rd place for the highest HFT scores

A magnificent (and quite sizeable!) trophy for the overall winner

Highest combined score from both courses using a springer or .22 rifle

Highest combined score from both courses in the “Para-Shoot Class”, for those competitors who prefer to shoot off sticks

No need to pre-book, just come along on the day.

Signing-in is from 8.00am, with the competition starting at 10.00am (after the all-important safety brief)

And even the ”weather gods” are being kind to us for The. Ritish Air British Air Rifle Championships (B.A.R.C.) at Maldon And District Air Rifle Club 😎

The forecast for the Maldon area on Sunday is for sunny intervals and light winds (ie enough of a breeze to make both of Dopper’s courses “interesting”, but without turning things into a complete lottery.
