    Webley Jaguar

Was the metal work on a Webley Jaguar all blued or part blued and part coated finished?
I have one that has a blued cylinder and what looks like a powder coated barrel is that original?

    Thanks.

The chamber & barrel were blued the same. An enthusiastic lad probably used and enjoyed it so much that his sweaty little mits wore the finish off & his dad put that on it.

Did the stock have a shiny finish or satin one?

Fairly sure it was varnish! I've just stripped one and refinished with Walnut oil and it looks an awful lot better for it.

The stocks of my three Jaguars which are in nice original condition, all have a satin varnish finish (as opposed to high gloss).

Mine looks like it has a a part paint/ coat finish. I then french polished the stock. The ranger being a step upwards is a better gun to collect. However a satin finish does look good!
