Webley Tracker 'smooth' mods / advice?

    Hi all,

    I have a Webley Tracker .22
    I like it very much!
But after shooting my 'non springer' it doesnt half 'bang' and jump in comparison.
I get that it is supposed to, and that I should expect to feel the difference. Of course.

I've shot springers since i was a kid, but I can't get relaible groups!

It has a recent standard spring replacement from Chambers, though of course I can't be sure it is entirely 'standard' or (I suspect) a 'close fit'.
The original Webley spring guide is present, as is the steel 'top hat' / Piston weight.

I presume the piston seal is still standard. To be honest, I dont recall
It's putting out 10.8 ftlbs, nice and consistent.

The trigger is surprisingly light/decent on this example, but the bang! (not 'twang') and the accompanying jump is rendering that a moot point!

I've tried 5.6mm pellets and it does seem to calm it down a very little amount.

I'd like to tone it right down to a softer , tamer rifle to shoot, without dropping below 10.2 ftlbs, which is the oft-quoted classic Tracker power.

What would you do / recommend ?

Jim Maccaris Webley kit works well in Trackers if the base gun is mechanically sound:

Softens the gun up quite a bit without loosing much power.
    Too many airguns!
